Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set

OMG. The Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Friendship stamp set is so much fun and the design possibilities are endless. Just change up the floral elements and/or the ink color and you have a totally different look.

Here are some of the samples I made while I was playing around. I’ll be turning them into cards in the upcoming days. But look at all of the possibilities!

Don’t be Afraid to Make Mistakes

Now of course I didn’t love all of the designs I made. In fact some of the ones I came up with were — well, let’s just say hideous. So don’t be afraid to play around and hey it’s just paper. If you don’t like some of things you come up, throw them away and start again.

To Make Today’s Card

For today’s card, I used Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana ink to stamp my flower and leaf images in a random pattern. I started with the largest image and then filled in with the leaves and smaller flower image.

Tip:  Stamp the largest images first then fill in with smaller leaves and flowers.

I stamped on a 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ piece of whisper white cardstock then I cut it down to size. In this case, 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″.  I started out with a larger piece of cardstock for two reasons:

  • I like the background to look as though it extends off the page and sometimes when I just stamp off the edge I don’t get a clear image.
  • And second, It gives me a little wiggle room to trim off areas that didn’t come out quite the way I like

Once I finished stamping and trimming, I double matted the background with Bermuda Bay and Basic Black cardstock. Each mat layer is 1/4″ larger than the layer on top of it.

FInally, I added a sentiment. Although the Beautiful Friendship stamp set has some really nice sentiments, I wanted to send this card to my Mom so I chose a sentiment from the Accented Blooms stamp set that was more appropriate.

Tip:  Don’t be afraid to mix and match stamp sets. It will give you so many more options and make them go alot further.

Well, thanks for stopping by and I hope you have as much fun playing with this stamp set as I did.

Happy Crafting!
