Masculine Birthday Card

For some reason masculine cards seem to be the hardest to make. But with a few supplies they can actually be very quick and easy. Using the right colors and keeping the design simple is really all it takes.

Today, I made an easy masculine birthday card which features a piece of Country Club DSP, a simple sentiment and a few balloons.

Country Club DSP & Here’s A Card

#151314 Country Club DSP

#149438 Here’s A Card

Country Club DSP is perfect for any masculine card — Birthday, Father’s Day, Retirement, or any other occasion when you might need a manly card. It has some great golf themed designs and if your guy is not into golf, there are some great plaids on the reverse side.

When you pair this paper with a simple sentiment like the “Happy Birthday” in the Here’s a Card stamp set you’re well on your way to a great masculine card.

Balloon Bouquet Punch

I used the Balloon Bouquet Punch to cut balloons out of cardstock in colors that coordinating with the Designer Series Paper. In this case,  I chose Garden Green and Basic Black which matches the thin stripes in this sheet of Country Club DSP.

TIP: The Balloon Bouquet punch should definitely be a staple in your crafting supply stash. The balloons add the perfect touch to any birthday card and I know we all make ALOT of birthday cards.

To Make the Card:

1)  Start by cutting your pieces of cardstock and designer series paper. Here are the paper sizes for this card:

Night of Navy 5 1/4″ x 4″

Whisper White 5″  x 3 3/4″

Night of Navy 4 1/2″ x 3 1/4″

Country Club DSP 4 1/4″ x 3″

2)  Mount your layers from largest to smallest on a card base made of Whisper White Thick Cardstock.

3) Punch balloons out of Basic Black and Garden Green cardstock. Cut two 5″ pieces of Whisper White Baker’s Twine. Loop the baker’s twine around the stem of the ballons and secure with a glue dot. Attach the balloons with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

4)  Stamp the sentiment  in Night of Navy on a 1″ x 3″ strip of Whisper White cardstock and attach to front of card with foam adhesive strips. (Attach over balloon strings to keep them in place)

TIP:  When your card has alot of layers or heavy embellishments, use a card base made out of  Whisper White Thick Cardstock so it will hold up under the weight.

And that’s it! Your card is done.  Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!
