Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Paper
I am obsessed with the Ornate Garden Specialty paper. Specifically with the white and gold foil sheets. Oh my gosh! I can’t stop coloring them! Seriously, I might need an intervention.
While the paper is beautiful on it’s own, add in some markers and it just comes to life. Here are a couple of samples I colored over the weekend. Trust me, I colored so many more than this and I’ll be revealing those throught the week.
Aren’t they gorgeous? I colored mine with Copic markers, however, I’ve added the Stampin’ Blends colors that most closely match the blue card to the supply list. (I’ll get to the pink sample in tomorrow’s post)
After I colored my paper, I added a Granny Apple Green mat layer. I stamped the “thank you” sentiment from the Ornate Thanks stamp set, in Granny Apple Green. Then I added a mat layer to that also. I attached everything to a card base made of Whisper White thick cardstock.
Hope you enjoyed today’s card and that you’ll give coloring this foil paper a try. Trust me you’ll be addicted too!
Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!
I just found this on Pinterest. These are gorgeous. I love your choice of colors and you did a fabulous job.
Thanks so much Carole!
Diana what a beautiful card in the blue and yellow combo. Had to try it myself with the SU Blends. Gotta say you’re blues in the Copic Markers are so pure and pretty. Think I’m going to have to invest in a few. Thank you for sharing these. Inspired me to do some myself. You’re blending is amazing!
Thanks Pam. I’d love to see your coloring. I’m planning on purchasing some of the Blends. Any colors you’d recommend?
That’s a hard one. I started out at Christmas so I leaned towards the colors I needed then. Now I would focus on Granny Apple Gr, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, calypso coral, mint macron. Seaside Spray & night of navy.. pinks are hard. Depends on your favorite pinks. Daffodil delight too is good. Crumb cake is good and the color lifter is very helpful. I purchased the dark and light ones as well. It’s hard. Hope this helps some. I wish SU sold them as a group like they do the markers.
Thanks for your recommendations! I keep looking at them in the catalog and trying to decide what to purchase first. I think Definitely Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight and I might get Lovely Lipstick before it retires.
I agree with you about needing an intervention, I might need one too! I love, Love, LOVE, these samples you shared with us! I’ve seen other samples of this SDSP that have been colored with S. Blends. Don’t get me wrong, I love S.Blends. But, the samples I’ve seen on Pinterest, are blah looking, UNTIL, you see a different angle of the same project. There’s NOTHING wrong with that sample, it just doesn’t look as pretty as it actually is! I won’t buy Coptic Markers, I just don’t have that kind of money! What I will do, is use my Stampin’ Write Markers. TFS!
Thanks Gloria. I don’t have any Stampin’ Blends yet but they are on my wish list. I like the fact that the colors will match better. I actually forgot about my Stampin’ Write Markers. I’ll have to give them a try!
I am interested to know which colors of copic markers you used. This is gorgeous!!
Thanks Kate! Let me see if I can remember…I think it was Copic Colors B60, B63, B66, YG23, YG25, G94, Y11, Y13, Y15, Y19
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL, TFS.
Thanks so much! 🙂
These two cards are GORGEOUS! What beautiful coloring! These would definitely brighten the day of whoever receives them. WOW! (Can you share the Copic numbers you used?)
Hi Vicki…Thank you for your nice comment! I think it was Copic Colors B60, B63, B66, YG23, YG25, G94, Y11, Y13, Y15, Y19.
I love your colors! Thank you for listing your Copic colors in the comments. After the first round of Blends had issues, I started collecting Copics. I’ve added the new Blends so I have a mix of both types of alcohol markers. I still like to pick up my Copics & color with them.
Thanks Susan! How to like the new Blends?
Wow! These are gorjuss cards! I love how you have coloured them, very pretty! Thanks for sharing:)
Sunshine
Thank you Sunshine!
ooops,, I miss spelt my blog ihearttostamp.blogspot.om
I am an SU dealer. Copics are still the best. The SU markers are not always true to color and there are no refills. Just my thought.
By the way, I forgot to say that your cards are just luscious. I love the colors that you picked. Keep up the good work.
Absolutely stunning coloring of this paper. Wow!
Such a wonderful coloring job! Love the colors! Beautiful!
Thank you! 🙂
