Stampin’ Up! Sweet Little Stockings

Check out this cute little guy. He’s just one of the adorable critters in the Stampin’ Up! Sweet Little Stockings bundle. The images are super easy to color and the coordinating dies make cutting them out a breeze.

Not into animal themed Christmas cards? Before you pass over this bundle, check out the adorable stockings and Christmas packages. Plus, only a few of the patterns in the DSP have animals on them the others are more traditional. And, as an added bonus, the stocking dies will crop out the stocking images that are on one of the sheets of DSP.

Coloring Sweet Little Stockings

Puppy:

1. Stamp image with Memento Black Ink and allow to dry before coloring.
2. Color entire image with Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend Marker.
3. Use Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend to color areas that are shaded.
4. Add deeper shadows with Light Cinnamon Cider Stampin’ Blend.

Stocking:

1. Stamp image with Memento Black Ink and allow to dry before coloring.
2. Color every other stripe with Light Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend.
3. Shade the edges of the red stripes with Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend.
4. Shade the white areas with Pool Party Stampin’ Blend. I colored about 1/3 of the way in from the edges with light and then added just a little of the dark to the very edges of the shaded area.

NOTE: I used the images from the Sweet Stockings DSP as a guide for where to add shadows.

Instructions for Today’s Card (supply list at end of post)

• Attach a 5″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper to a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock and attach these to a white A2 sized card base.
• Crop a 1 3/4″ x 5″ strip of Basic White cardstock and Stamp “Very Merry” sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink about 3/4 ” from the bottom.
• Attach the sentiment strip to a 2″ x 5″ piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and attach to card.
• Stamp and color the puppy and stocking (instructions above). Then crop with coordinating Stocking Dies.
• Attach stocking to card with Stampin’ Seal.
• Attach puppy to card with Stampin’ Dimensionals so he is peeking out of the stocking.
• Add a few of the Coastal Cabana Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels to embellish.
